Blassreiter

Hooray, someone made a thread finally.

Definitely reminRAB me of Karas. The animation is always iffy when they use cel-shading, but I'll live.

Also, it's worth noting that each episode of Blassreiter will be available (streaming) legally from GONZO a day after it's aired in Japan. They have set-up multiple places for people to watch it.

» http://uk.youtube.com/user/animeBLASSREITER - (YouTube. Episode #1 is already available with English Sub-Titles)

» http://www.bosttv.com/gonzo/blassreiter/ - (BostTv.com with Episode #1 With English Sub-Titles)

» http://www.gonzo.co.jp/works/0803e.html - (English Web-site)

More info in this thread over at AnimeOnDVD.com ( http://www.animeondvd.com/aodvb/showthread.php?t=80108 ). Go check out Episode #1 streaming right now.

Well hey, that's the only reason I'm checking it out. The series itself doesn't really interest me, but if the art will keep me going than so be it.

But no Itou Kanako. What gives?

i liked this anime starting from the first scene i saw (Im a sucker for 3d cel-shading) and thought the rest of the stuff that happened in that episode was awesome too. It's gotten me anticapating the next episode. This series looks promising to me. Much better than that other Gonzo anime that premiered

Yeah, there is nothing wrong with linking to this anime like Friday did. People have reported this, but it is indeed an official release of the episode from the license holder so its not violating any rules. HOWEVER, please don't link to the same episode in any other type of release, like fansubs as thats not allowed even if the episode is available like this. The same goes for following episodes if they aren't released the same way.

I like this idea of releasing anime. It looks like the licenser's finally have realized that they can compete with fanusbbers if they just find out how. BLASSREITER don't look like its my kind of anime, but if more things are released like this, even if its just teaser releases of the first episode it will be easier for me to find new shows to watch so I hope this trend continues.

I reported it as well, but saw my error after reading through it again and Shian Kiri pointed out it was an official release.

At our local Anime con they sometimes have offers where you can buy several DVD's for 1 Euro to promote the series.

These online episodes don't really do the art any justice, but it's definitely a good way for non Japanese to see if the series might be worth watching. Although one single episode might not be sufficient for people to get into it. Some Anime's have really questionable first episodes because the creator tries to lure the viewer in with what is to come. The first episode is thus usually the oddest one.

If they want 'fans' to buy their sh1t, they need to put out more slimpacks.

£30-40 ($60-80) for a 26 episode series is a fair price imo. The current set up of a 4 episode disc every couple of months is bs.

Anyway, this looks like its eating of Claymores popularity. However, the opening seconRAB of the trailer gave me an akiragasm.

I'll check it.

Sorry about that guys. I may be new to your forum, but I would never post links to fan-subs or illegal content. I've been in the scene for about 10 years and wouldn't do that.

I should have linked to the official GONZO press release, but in my hast, I couldn't find a good link to it. The news that GONZO was doing this has been out for a while so I assumed everyone knew. ANN has this write up:

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2008-03-21/gonzo-works-to-be-streamed-simultaneously-with-airing

And I believe this is the PR:

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/press-release/2008-03-21/gdh-to-offer-worldwide-online-release-synchronised-with-japan-broadcast-for-new-gonzo-titles

Sorry about that. I'll be a bit clearer next time.
