Blah. Vacation.

Just went on vacation to my homeland, The Sunshine State (Florida).

It started out bad and is finishing bad.

My first flight was delayed so long that I missed my connecting flight home and was delayed again. This might have been ok but they told us we would have our flight and upon landing we find out that we are on standby and we have to sit there with a thumb up our asses waiting to see if we can get a flight to our destination. This also might have been ok if my 1 year old wasn't screaming her head off, almost out of bottles, and didn't have any of her things not even a car seat in case we had to leave for the night and come back the next day (like they told us they would probably end up having to do).

I told them they better fucking get us to Florida and I didn't care how they did it and they managed to get us a flight to a city an hour away from where I needed to be. So we sat on our ass for 3 1/2 hours waiting for this flight with a very pissed off child.

At 2:30 am (12 hours after we arrived at the first airport) we finally land in Florida. Takes an hour to drive to the original airport to find out the baggage center was closed - and we had to wait until the next day to get our bags.

If I would have waited to get to my original airport it would have been shorter to drive and I would have saved 300 dollars.

So. Day 1. Arrive at home 9 hour later than it should have taken. 3:30 am.

Day 2. Kid wakes up at 8am. Only got less than 4 hours sleep. Go out with family to breakfast no enough tables to seat our party.

Day 3. Time changes. Kid wakes up at 5am. Screams all day. Hates everyone in the family and screams when they get near her.

Day 4. Halloween. Costume I had made was too big. Had to get it altared. Rained all day. Sat in a humid laundrymat for 5 hours where my mom worked with a less than pleased baby. Went to mall. 6 bazillion kids trick-or-treating. Got only cheap ass lollipops and some tootsie rolls.

Day 5. Rained. Husband forgot Social Security Card in another state so couldn't apply for job's and had to have it overnighted. Baby screamed because she hated new carseat. My good friend Aunt Flow showed up hot and heavy to bring in the end of one shitty week.

Day 6. Windy. Rainy. Kid didn't sleep all night. Husband having nasty allergies from grandmother's cat. Husband skimmed on refilling rent-a-car was charged 50+ dollars for 3 gallons of gas. Kid won't let me do anything and forces me to hold her. Today is her birthday. God what else is in store?

Day 7. Tomorrow. If I don't post again you will know we got in a plane accident and that would be a perfect ending to a fucked up week.

There was more. But I'm still too tired from lack of sleep. I had to bitch. Thanks for reading. :)

Wow, what a crummy week! But theres not better place to vent your frustrations then right here. You are bound to get people who empathize with you.

Hope things start turning around! Your kid wont be screaming forever. :happysad:

Woah, I'm sorry to here that. Well hang on there, like Captain said, the kid won't be screaming forever. She's gonna have to get tired one way or another. Nonetheless, I hope it gets better with your kid, your husband's allergies, and everything else going on.

Hang on there. :)

Thanks for the sympathy. At least the return trip didn't suck balls for the most part. The airport dude at 5am stole my soda and didn't let me drink it before I boarded and wouldn't let me bring my kids bottles that were filled with water on board.

Boo!

Well think of the plus side, at least you won't go home regretting it and upset you have to leave such a lovely vacation and you'll have time to rest at time and relax.

Chin up.

Thank you SO much PissedRae. I was feeling sorry for myself that I couldn't go visit my sister for the holidays. Your travel tales made me quite happy to be staying at home.

P.S. Sorry you had such bad luck. Hope the munchkin settles down now that she's back home, and you get some rest.

AHH I can REALLY feel for you. Try travelling with 15 month old TWINS and sitting on a freaking tarmack for 3 hours and that was just going from Austin to Dallas. Then riding in the car with my grandmother who drives HORRIBLY and flips every person who gets in her way off with an arthritic finger that, even though she's flipping the person off to the left of us, her finger points to the right, so now we are surrounded by pissed off drivers and 2 15 month olds screaming in the back seat because they're hungry.
Im sorry for ya girl! Sometimes there really is no place like home! :happysad:

It'll be better. At least you aren't like me and buy the wrong flight tickets and end up traveling from Arizona to Washington and realizing that you the wrong ticket. Yes, i really AM that ignorant.
