Bladder infection...anyone?

I had a urinary tract infection + bladder infection (not sure if they are the same thing?) but am on two diff meds for it...Ciprofloxacin and Metronidazole. Now that second med is mainly used to cure STD's, which I don't have, so I don't really get that...but I was wondering if anyone else has taken these meds because I have a huge event to attend this weekend and plan on drinking and need to know if these antibiotics can be mixed with alcohol
 
I checked and both of them say to avoid alcohol while on these meds. And the Met. even says to continue for three days after the last dose that you have.

So the choice is up to you, but I wouldn't drink and take these meds, and it's a little late to stop them now and expect them to get out of your system in time for your function....just my MOHO. Good luck I hope you feel better....
