Hi guys,
It's time for me to get my new phone. I want to get a PDA-ish smartphone just to try something new. Something with a nice big screen that I can browse the net with, check email, and run a couple of fun apps on. I'll be honest. I don't use Outlook. I don't need a constant reminder of my "tasks" - I have none. I just want a fun new phone with more features than my current one. However, I don't want compromised call quality.
I'm with Verizon, so I'm looking at the Blackberry 8703e (I believe), the Treo 700w, the Q, and the XV6700. I talked to a beautiful girl at the Verizon store yesterday, and she's actually owned 3 of them.
She said the Blackberry has the worst call quality of the four. Not necessarily dropped calls, but it doesn't function as well as phone (as it does all its other many tasks). She has the Treo 700w and she loves it. Great call quality, syncs easily with Outlook (I don't care), and generally an easy-to-use phone with a nice big screen. Apparently the Q is not on the broadband network - she said it's only on the "national network" for now, so it may be a little slower than the Blackberry or the Treo.
I also saw the XV6700, which I know is a little old, but the keyboard feels the best out of all 4 of them. However, I think I would prefer tactile buttons as opposed to a touch-screen when it comes to dialing numbers.
I like the Q's thin-ness, although it doesn't feel right in my hands because I have big hands. I'd go with the Blackberry, but apparently with the subpar call quality, I'm thinking of not going that route. And the XV6700 doesn't have tactile buttons for calling, although I think I like it the best.
I guess the decision is between a Q/Treo700w/XV6700.
Any thoughts would be highly appreciated. Thank you so much!
