Blackberry Storm 9530 problems...Plz help!!?

I just updated the software on my blackberry storm 9530 phone at a verizon store. Everything was fine for about a week or two but then I just started having problems. Problems such as my phone freezing up. Or when I set my phone down and the screen goes black and I go to touch the screen to use it again it takes a few minutes for the screen to finally appear again. Then I noticed when I try to text people, as I'm pressing on the screen, lines appear on the screen. I don't know if it's because I left my phone on all night and my phone overheated or if it's because lately I've been downloading ring-tones on my phone and that's having an affect on it. Also when people try calling my, my screen is completely black and I have no clue who it is until I answer it. I keep taking my battery out and putting it back in to try to see if maybe it would help make it run better but it seems only to help for a short while and then it's back to the way it was. I really don't know what to do and I don't have insurance on this phone so I'm wondering if anyone else has had these problems and if there is a way to fix them??
