Blackberry Pearl?

My bro was asking me what will be more awesome than a sidekick (cus that's what everyone is throing in his face in Cali) Anyways, he hates sidekicks (thinks they're teh gay) so he stumbled upon this new phone and was wondering if this will kind of phone is cool enough to last a couple years worth of coolness. It's got a keyboard feature which is comparable to sidekicks yet it's more phone. So I don't know what to say to him. Any suggestions or comments on this phone?

Pearl. Great phone if you want email. Sufficient if you just want a phone. And coolness? It's not so cool. You want cool, you probably want to go with some of the new models of well....pretty much any phone. And if you can find a good one that's not being sold in NA, even better. =)~

gay in the fact that there's just so many of them around not meaning that whoever holds one is gay. Please don't take it so literally.

Anyway, he's a 30 year old professional. Was thinking of going on a plan to get the phone for free.
 
Great phone. While the sidekick does have that "cool factor" the pearl takes its place perfectly. The pearl gives of a vibe of "i can be cool but be professional at the same time" lol
 
Well i would say the Pearl would be agood choice for a professional that still wants a little style too. The biggest thing that i like that they added to the pearl is that it has a camera now and that it replaces the scroll wheel with a trackball much better in my opinion you need to hold one. But overall it is going to be best for e-mailing and texting. It is a good phone and less unweildy than the other blackberries or the gigantic sidecick, but still not optimized for phone use. Hopefully that helps
