Blackberry Pearl question.?

Its different for BB.The internet wont work unless you had BB Plan.
However,some provider will automatically ADDING the plan for your device once they detected that you are using a smartphone.
However,a Tmobile Representativ who had joined here,some weeks ago told us that:
- in case you buy a BB out of their store,its up to you whether or not you will have BB Plan.Without BB Plan your bb will go for phonecall m texts only.
 
Hey everyone, my friend is giving me a blackberry pearl cell phone for my birthday this week but my sister is worried because she pays my bill and she thinks that even though my cell plan doesnt have internet, the phone will still use internet and charge us. i told her that i dont think that happens but she said yeah it does because thats what they do with HER smart phone. Does the phone use up some internet even though i dont have internet on my plan?! Help me please!
