BlackBerry or iPhone?

I currently have a iphone 3Gs on AT&T on pick your plan account with $30 200 mins, and $20 unlimited data. I pay with taxes around $58 a month. My internet speed average is around 100kbps. My mom bought me a virgin mobile blackberry 8530. And I activated it on christmas and have been using it for a few a days now. And I like it but I am really torn between the iphone and blackberry. Also on the blackberry I pay $35 with all taxes and fees. And I get 300 mins, unlimited text, unlimited data. And the internet speed is averages around 600 kbps. I love how the blackberry is cheaper and has faster internet and has more minutes and has unlimited texting. But it doesn't have as much curb appeal like my iphone does. I know it may sound bad but I like it when people look at my iphone. But now no one really cares about the blackberry since it is a blackberry. I dont know what do you think?
 
who cares about curb appeal when u have a better plan with a BB?? and people still like and think of BB so ti goes have a curb appeal.

Stick with the BB if i was u
 
Do you use the Apps on the iPhone much? Are the same apps available on the Blackberry? Are those apps worth $20 per month to keep the iPhone?

Do you surf much? 100K vs 600K speed is quite a difference ... real world though ... you may not even notice it depending on the web site. Surf your most common websites with both phones side by side. Which is faster? Which gives a better experience? Do you typically go over your data limit? Again ... is it worth the $20 per month difference?

Are you still in a contract? Do you want a new one? Some people will pay more so long as there are not in a contract ... again ... worth the $20 per month?

I think there is still demand for a 3GS ... you might be able to sell it and with the money get the equivalent BB apps (if available) ... or pay for your monthly bills for that matter ...

Just some things to think about.
 
The only things the iPhone isn't going to do better than any enterprise class device (Blackberry 9700, Nokia E7) have to do with typing. If you simply must do a lot of mail on a handheld device, or you simply must do a lot of texting, then the enterprise devices will simply always be better than any kind of iPhone we have seen so far.

I like my iPhone 4. Overall, I think it is the best thing going right now. Even the 1.2 GHz Droid 2 Global visibly hitches and hesitates when you are zooming a Web site.

But there's no denying that I miss the simplicity and easy typing of a cheap enterprise class device...and if you really have to do a lot of communicating in that fashion, everybody will understand why you prefer your Blackberry.
 
Well, that's a hard question really. I had and used both at the same time and ended up sticking with the Blackberry. BBs have faults of their own such as the lack of apps, dated OS, and inability to stream pls files without using workarounds, but I liked the physical QWERTY so I ended up selling the iPhone 3G.

Recently, though I'm thinking about going back to the BB and iPhone 3G combination again, the latter I use to stream audio feeds and something to use when I don't want my emails hanging on me like a ball and chain. I missed the flexibility of using both devices as the situation needed so I may go back to doing this again.
 
AT&T is only slow and crappy in dense urban areas where each cell phone tower has thousands of connetions to it at any given time. Plus, now Verizon has the iPhone.

Now since Verizon has the iPhone, all Droid-lovers-iPhone-haters have nothing to ***** about anymore!



I agree 100%. The Droid will never be a suitable iPhone-killer until they get smooth scrolls, smooth screens and more user-friendly interfaces.
 
That's the problem of the stock browser. it doesn't accelerate all the functions. But other Android browsers like Opera Mini or Firefox do. Strangely enough, stock browsers on the Galaxy S and phones with the HTC Sense UI are also graphically accelerated.

Also more and more people are looking at iPhones less, because there is too many of them. Either way, a Blackberry or an iPhone is going to be increasingly ignored.

Anyway, I used to cover both fronts, carrying a Blackberry and an iPod Touch at the same time. Many people still do that. Today I still carry my iPod Touch by sheer force of habit and because that's what my car has docks for, but an Android phone is what I use now. Something has to be said about the incredible voice quality of some of these Androids.

I've always been a BB user and probably will be until the end of time. I've never used an iPhone outside of the store and did try a HTC Hero for about a week. But went back to my Bold. I use PIN messaing quite a bit so I am benefiting from a BB, and do my fair share of email.

I think Blackberry will always win when it comes to battery life.
 
Have you tried calling At&t to speak with their Retentions department? They might be able to do wonders for your monthly bill, or at least save you a few bucks.
Unfortunately, it's unlikely that you'll find a device that'll satisfy every single need you have. If you had a BB, you might wish for a better browser experience. If you have the iPhone, you'll probably miss the keyboard, bbm, and the unlimited data.
I'd probably do as some of the other ppl recommended, BB and iPod Touch. But I like BB's so I'm a bit biased
