Blackberry 8330

well i found out even after you do all the prl stuff and service books you still have to change these settings, anyone know how to do that?

- set MobileIP mode to "SimpleIP only"
- set PPP username = [email protected]
- set PPP password = cricket
- set HDR(EVDO) username = [email protected]
- set HDR(EVDO) password = cricket
- set blackberry banner = Cricket Wireless
- set blackberry RegID = 5458 (RegID should be same as HomeSID, for me it's 5458, but you can change it to your HomeSID or any ID# you want)

Reg ID is done from the Service Menu. As for the other settings, they are done with the new CDMA Workshop.

If you got the servicebooks from Tony he tells you exactly what to do and how to do that.

This is for the new Sprint BB 8330m? i know that the 8330 and every other bb I've ran into, just simply replacing the service book with Tony's work perfect, but with the 8330m its a no-go

I usually replace the 8330m with Alltel's OS. I am able to read the SPC and all of that. I usually revert back to the Sprint software after I am done.

If you are having problems loading up the service books it might be a firewall issue or IT Policy.

It seems that everything is loading fine, and programming fine, but when you access the internet it just sits there, mms the same thing.

it just says 1x no ev or EV ... You think it maybe a PRL issue. I've found that when I use the EV on the unit(s) they will not dial out, just says "service required". Typically I put the standard 1040 then *228 to update it, then finish the flash.

With most of the BB's I do 8330, 9530, 8130, etc... They will not do a *228 or *22807 to upgrade.

Do the IOTA bypass per Tony's instructions. That is likely the problem. Sometimes you have to do that on Alltel's and Sprint's

Also make sure the network code and country code is 310 and 00.

I would also make sure the reg id is 2004

what version of the PRL are you using. I tried the OTA Bypass and its still not working

Maybe I'm missing a step on the OTA Bypass

Well, I got the EVDO PRL to work, but still cant get WAP or MMS working properly.

-------------------------

Little off topic, on topic at the same time.... I've had phones come back with an odd symptom....

Customer can make calls, but when receiving them, they just to go voice mail
:disappoin

I have 3 Sprint Blackberry Curves 8330 running 4.5.0 Software. I'm looking for the SPC code on these. I have tried both addresses in UniCDMA .98.

0x10700000
0x1067ED90

9:36:25 AM : Switching into DM Mode...
9:36:25 AM : Phone is in DM Mode now!
9:37:05 AM : Reading 1703936 bytes of memory, starting from 0x10700000
9:37:05 AM : Read error at address 0x10700000

10:06:08 AM : Switching into DM Mode...
10:06:08 AM : Phone is in DM Mode now!
10:06:17 AM : Reading 1703936 bytes of memory, starting from 0x1067ED90
10:06:17 AM : Read error at address 0x1067ED90

Am I retarded? Is there a different address for Software Version 4.3.0.127 and 4.5.0?

I'm a novest but have flashed several Blackberrys.

Thanks for you time.

Unplug the phone, do a phone security wipe. Once the phone turns on, then pull the battery for 10 seconds, I know its a pain, but when I don't do that order, it doesn't work 30% of the time, the rest ... I don't have that problem, then once the phone comes back up, press # # # #, End.

then try

0x1070FA96 set bytes to 6

0x1070fac7 set bytes to 1703936

0x011DF400 set bytes to 1703936

Ok, I got it to work... The new OS version of the BB 8330 by sprint that is 4.5.0.175 platform 3.4.0.55 will not allow you to get the SPC code, nor will it (if you do get the code) not allow WAP or MMS using Tony's Books...

What I did to correct this is downgrade the OS to v4.5.0.188

then did the flash, everything worked perfect...

Thank you everyone for helping get to this conclusion and all your hard work for this matter.
