heh-heh...In fairness, this deal was only signed/announced back in what, April, May, '08?

..so I'm sure there were plans early on for a preview clip prepared for the Comic-Con (as well as for potential advertisers).. short turnaround time, probably a minimal budget-- Denys Cowan, and the Marvel people involved are all pros, they know what's at stake here.. I seriously doubt they would willingly do anything to hurt the Marvel/BET brand or black panther as a character..

My suspicion is that by February/March when it first premieres for real, it will have quality that will be very pleasing to the viewing audience.

it's just a ruff cut. the voices u hear aren't the one's who'll be doing the voices.

and maybe the put this trailer out on purpose to get people talking. and then hit us with something awesome. something fluid, something lush.

I just watched the first two episodes, and was extremely disappointed.

There are no improvements in the animation, the episodes are as badly animated as the preview. I can understand different choices of animation style, but this just seems cheaply and poorly produced animation.

The characters designs aren't consistent, especially when any lighting effects occur. The music often feels out of place, and doesn't seem to suit the setting. And the few jokes throughout the episodes are terrible.

The voice actors aren't too bad, other than Captain America. I really wonder why Stan Lee chose to play such a stupid general though.

So far the story seems to be moving rather slow, for a mini series, which is only 6 episodes long. We see Claw building up a group of villains to invade, while the new Black Panther is trying to find information on what happened to his father. A few brief appearances by several X-Men characters, with Cyclops and Wolverine far too easy wiped out by Juggernaut.

Now I understand why Australia got the premiere of this series, I doubt any other TV network was interested in this poor production.

I really want another actor to take this role. Lamaar, David, Harewood, and Kevin Michael Richardson are all the go-to black guys for animation. I want an unrecognizable actor.

Does anyone know who will be in charge of animation ? At first, I thought they were working with Film Roman now I've heard they're with the Metalocalypse guys.

This does not surprise me at all. Heck, in a sort of twisted way, I'm glad this show (based solely on your review) is crap, since I don't want to see a good animated BP series based off of Hudlin's crappy BP comic book run.

Black Panther is a great Marvel character, but it sure is surprising to see him in animated series, who are going to be his villains? There can't be a super hero with no villains to fight.

You probably would ask: How is he great to me since I hardly know anything related to his characters? Answer: I knew him when he met zombie Luke Cage, and that he is Ororo's "Storm's" husband just so recently. I was longing to read his comics for a while but never found them in any comic shop in my country.

So, is this still supposed to be animated like the old 60s Marvel superhero toons? If so, sorry, this is the 21st century, they need to utilize the hi-tech animation of today & not cheap out by using 40yr old stop motion comic panel low tech.

BET must not have the confidence in this show to succeed if they went the cheapo route with the animation.

On its own, the animation was interesting, to say the least. But don't teasers generally look better than the eventual TV shows? This does not bode well.

Interesting, very interesting. Like Spider-Man, I'm very much looking forward to seeing the character designs and how the animation looks.

Overall, it really looks like BET is trying to get into the animation game as they have a Dwayne McDuffie helmed animated series in the works as well. Should be interesting to see what happens with these animated series they are working on.

They showed a new clip, and I have to say that it looked pretty neat. They were pretty hot to ensure that we all knew that it was very rough and unfinished animation, and it already looked better than the earlier clip they showed before, IMO.
