are Alcest black metal? all ive heard is the new album which is pretty much shoegaze.. awesome stuff though.

Ive never really given it a listen.. i cant stand much death metal though im very into extreme doom.. i do like Celtic Frost... any other recommendations?
 
Oh well, l'm setting a precedent for newbies who never mature .. hope you'se don't mind. Reason being that really you'se aren't worth a brass button, and your simple ways are kind of rortering my systematic wise cracks .. as you'se through your own dim wittedness are not able to comprehend the complex thinking of a master mind! ... but thats ok! :) ... l like it that way!

Fact is, at the end of the day music is music, man. All this genre stuff is ridiculous. Why SHOULD we view 50 Cent as being in a different category to Cannibal Corpse, George Forraby, Johnny Cash or even Ludwig van Beethoven? They all converge in making music when all's said and done and the dust has settled. The only differences lie in the melodies and the volume. Same could be said in a comparison of Greenday and The ORABpring, both classically recognized as being the same genre. Genre's just an illusion, people. Music is music.

He (lead singer) always goes on about how everything is a joke and released a couple other local banRAB (My Violent Ego) as his material, just to piss people off. Which one is retarded and two plagirising. Then release demo's and albums that didn't exist.

He basically created Velvet Cacoon to deceive people and to satitrise the BM scene and all involved in it.
 
I have never myself been able to derive any enjoyment from extreme metal. but what i'm questioning is why, if the music is "not that good", would it be interesting to learn about the people who MAKE the music?
 
Didn't clear it up so much. All I got was its based off of heavy metal and claissical music which sounRAB cool. But then it said it uses Satanic Imagery, which I usually see as a sign of immaturity. Like "lets do something that will offend people AWESOME."

Lame. But Metal and classical, reminRAB me of Randy Rhodes who, for as much as everyone blows hendrix or clapton, was the best guitarist ever.
