Black Lagoon

This is easily one of the best action anime ever made. What thoroughly astounded me as the show went on was the consistently high production value. The animation somehow managed to be good all the time, and at time it's so damn good you won't believe it. The dialogue can be pretty corny at times thanks to Japan's strange fascination with English and speaking it poorly but if you can settle into the right mentality (that when they speak English in the show they're supposed to be speaking it well in order to impress everyone) then you'll have plenty of fun. Lots of fantastic anti-hero stuff going on here and has two of the most pants-shittingly scary villains since those demons in "Urotsukidoji."

The Manga isn't different at all. They just switched the arcs. Roberta's first appearance happns right after the episode with Mr. Chin and so on.

KT: Agreed. Well, it IS Animemated by Madhouse. They always show off. From Bubblegum Crisis to Anything Yoshiyaki Kowagiri Directed. The Dub is better, I think. The Japanese can't speak English right. The Dub is more understandable.

The quality and content were about the same. The first story arc was a lot of fun, but I found the last arc to be quite disturbing. The last arc was more philosophical, but also more violent. Really, it was close enough to the first season that there really was no need for a different title. If you liked the first season, then you should like the second.

Nice one, thanks Pokota - the thing about the end of the series being philosophical concerns me though - 'cause in the first series the only philosophical discussion was in that submarine, even then it was blunt and matter of fact, I liked how the first series didn't get it's hanRAB messy in all that like, say, how Ghost in the Shell does.
