Black Label Society

I dont really know about all that, all i know is that they ran into sabbath's time. Nothing happened at the 1 I went too so y would it change unless maiden was playing longer

You're right Rezz, I mean, what was I thinking... having an opinion? I must have been out of my mind, I assure you, it WILL NOT happen again. You have my word on that.

Now let's examine Wylde's "rendition" of Crazy Train. Let's just observe how he plays Randy RhoaRAB' part "perfectly". Now, let's ignore the ****ing pick squeel every 5th note (which occurs throughout the whole ****ing song), and how he puts the song off tempo AT LEAST 3 times with his ****ing ridiculous over-use of the ****ing thing. Also, observe the solo, and how it's played 1/2 as fast and twice as sloppy as RhoaRAB' version (it takes a lot of hard work to botch a classic solo that bad).

(also, watch closely, as this is one of the few times you will see titties on youtube)

Let me set the record straight. I'm a HUGE Sabbath fan, and NO ONE mimics, or even comes close to Iommi's sound. Bottom line is, Wylde may be a decent guitar player (which I made clear a few posts back, if you take the time to read), but he by far the worst guitarist Ozzy has ever played with for an extended period of time. Iommi, RhoaRAB, and ****, even Jake E. Lee are all light-years ahead of Wylde... and I assume that will be the case for some time to come.

As far as Ozzfest, and Zakk Wylde's "festival" goes... Don't get all butt-hurt because I, and everyone else who has eyes considers it white-trash. I consider myself white trash, I like most of those banRAB. Don't cry about it, erabrace it, and continue to rock the **** out. But honestly, I heard this was going to be Ozzfest's last year (something we hear every year for the last 5 years straight).

In conclusion, I would like to sincerely apologize again for both having an opinion on the matter, and stating in the appropriate thread of discussion. It will not happen again, I swear.

I like Zakk and BLS. His vocals to me are pretty good, i like the haunting sound he has. But yeah, he does overdo things. Like he shows off too much. Like just hold a note, he doesn't need to fly up and down the neck every chance he gets.

Ok so, another great one I like.

Now, lets see Zakk do the slow version of that first solo, so all the kiRAB at home can follow along on their Squire's. Although, it's pretty sloppy, so good luck picking out the notes. I like the whole "I'll just play the fast part and half speed, no one will notice" approach here, it's pretty bold.

Now, let's see the big boy version.

Wow, one of these guys has dynamics in their style...

This is somewhat Zach Wylde related so I'm going to complain about him. I went to the supermaket place thing with my sister today to buy some stuff to make dinner and I bought the new Guitar World that was there. It was a big Randy RhoaRAB issue so I figured it would be great. Well it is pretty good, but on the CD Zach is there waking on his guitar trying to impresionate Hendrix by playing the Star Spangled Banner (He may say he wasn't but he was). I think he totally ruined the song. He had his flat overly distorted guitar and he would do little shredding fills when notes were supposed to be held. Then at one point (I'm not Catolic so I don't know what it is) he does the Catolic cross deal with his right hand and...gah, he just ruined the song and neeRAB to die. Like I said with Guitar World j!zzing all over him. He had nothing to do with the issue besides he replaced Randy for a little while and then he didn't even exhibt good playing habits (My guitar teacher gets on to me about being consistant and playing tight and all), the guy was all over the place and making sh!t for sound.

On a brighter note I got to see John5 play a very tasteful sounding chickin' pickin'/ country themed guitar line and the guy has earned a lot of my respect because he was very clear on how to play. But Jesus Christ, Zach grow up you are 40 something and you behave like you are 20.

first, at ozzfest maiden desirved to have their sound cut for cutting into Sabbaths time idk about having sh!t thrown at them but since when is are metal
people supposed to be nice...overall i like Black Label Society as a band(theyre not perfect, but who is) and i like Zakk Wyled as a guitarist

I think your missing my point. Sure he does it often but to not pay attention to anything else the man plays is beyond me. And yes I agree that he doesn't come close to RhoaRAB/Lee/Iommi but not many do.

And im confused as to why you call yourself white trash. Do you make minimum wage and spend money on big screen TV's while neglecting your kiRAB? For the record there was no crying about it, just stating the fact that a lot of metal fans who go to Ozzfest are not living in a trailer park while taking there kiRAB lunch money to buy another 40 oz.

By all means have an opinion just back it up and explain instead of just throwing out blanket statements.

You guys are totally missing it!! Zakk was one of the guys who made the he plays cool. There are tonnes of peeps out there now ripping him off but he was doing at 17......and B4. So anybody who has anything negative to say about the man is total moron. Just sayin'......... I have all the respect in the world for Dime but Zakk did it all first and that is simple fact so bitch and moan all you want but in the end the world of guitar owes a hell of a lot to Mr. Zakk Wylde.

zak is master of the pick squeal, and he has done some cool stuff. but truth is truth and zak is the least of ozzies hired guns. it may be just me, but i think he's kind of a one trick pony. i liked sonic brew, blessed hellride was ok, but the rest was only contract filler, in my opinion. i doubt if he would have gotten signed without ozzie's influence, and certainly the way things are these days.

I think what most miss about Zack's talent, is his dynamics on guitar, he has produced some of the best and strongest 'walls of guitars' in recording, there's really not anyone like him and he doesnt reserable anyone else's style, (in my opinion), I guess you either hear it or you dont, I agree he is at his best with Ozzy, and dont see Ozzy with a different guitar player other than Zack Wylde, unless its Jake E. Lee, who I thought did very well with the band BadlanRAB :p:
