Black Friday Sale infos?

I really quite get the catch. My mother told me that alot of electronic stores are having a huge sale because of overstocked items. Is this true?
Let's say Best buy... is there gonna be a sale? How many % will they cut of from the regular price considering my parents told me up to 50% which i most likely don't believe.
When is black fridaysale going to be out? is it gonna be all the exact same date in different electronics?
 
Black Friday is always the day after Thanksgiving. The discounts depend on the stores. My local circuit city is like 50% off.
