Hi,

I just brought this film on dvd yesterday and watched it today and found it really good!!

Great sickening effects!! Love the eyeball stuff!! lol

Definetly recommended for christmas day fun!! If you would like a scary christmas.

Its different from the usual lovey dovey christmas crap make.

Out of interest, which version did you see (1974 or 2006)? I saw the 2006 version a few weeks ago. I didn't think it was too bad. It was entertaining enough and kept you interested throughout. However I found sometimes the plot was a bit of a mixed bag. The back story about the house's former occupiers added some depth to the story so it wasn't just a basic killer set-up. But sometimes it was a bit daft - people are being killed but let's go into the spooky attic rather than just leave. You knew someone was going to drop, so as a result so it made the film a bit predictable in that respect. It was still generally good though and worth watching.

I saw the new 2006 version. It did get slightly confusing with who was who but kept me gripped regardless. I love the part when the sorority leader lady is killed by an icicle.

i bought this version a couple of weeks back and really liked it.. though some of it was quite confusing!
some really gross bits in too though!!
think i prefer the final destination movies though..

Not seen the remake yet. Wonder whats stopping me?
Maybe another remake of a classic film. Seeing the 2007 Halloween this year was enough for me to add to bad remakes such as The Wicker Man and The Fog!

To those who are interested in seeing the original but superior 'Black Christmas', it's on Film Four on Saturday 22nd December and is repeated very late on Boxing Day!

I can't understand why this is not on Christmas Eve instead of 'Wolf Creek'

That's excellent - I've always wanted to see it and never have so that's going straight into the planner. And I wondered why they were starting to advertise it again, so learning that there's a new remake has made a lot of sense to me now! I do like the new remakes so I'll prolly go order it if I like the original.

Thank you!!
I've been on about this film for years and was beginning to think i was the only person who'd ever seen it.
I was even starting to think i might have imagined it!

It's on tonight as well. :D

Not seen this before tonight. Pretty good I thought, though suffered from the usual horror movie slow start.

It wasn't really clear. I was expecting a final 20-minute plot twist at the end, but then the movie actually ended. No doubt a modern Hollywood effort would spell it out.

I can remember seeing this film if its the one I think it is when the Woman is killed at the start of the film in a plastic bag and she is sitting in a rocking chair. It was on as a double bill with the new film just released "Dressed to kill" staring Angie Dickinson. This must have been around 1980. I remember with the Yorkshire Ripper at the time still being at large there was a public outcry from Women's groups saying that Women were being portrayed in films always as the victims of Men.
I remember Black Christmas scaring the hell out of me at the time.
