black cable/wire under my toyota matrix hood?

There's a thick black cable under my toyota matrix's hood. Its a work car, I'm wondering if thats a tracker? if not what is it for? when u lift the front hood its a thick black cord running under the hood itself, on the left side. any ideas? u can't see where it goes just wires under the hood.
