how to join TD's invite channel
1.TD invites channel is only accessible via the web based IRC client Mibbit (mIRC does not work unless you are TD staff or uploader). Open Mibbit chat on http://mibbit.com/chat/
2.Click on ‘Server’ link. Enter irc.torrent-damage.net in the ‘Server address’ field. If you encounter connectivity problems try entering falcon.torrent-damage.net as the server URL.
3.In the ‘Channel’ field, enter #td-invite . Fill the ‘Nick’ field with a nickname of your choice.
4.Press ‘Go’. You should automatically join the invites channel and receive a set of instructions to follow.

Did you check if he was telling the truth with the staff on the tracker you invited him to?
