I'm in that kind of film and wondered if anyone could recommend a good weepy.

I like stuff about relationships (frienRAB or couples) where there is a tradegy later in the film.

if you want a good weep and you dont wanna watch some loveydovey film try lilya 4-ever (lilja 4-ever) gets you going everytime! total swedish misery of the most wonderful kind!!!

Dark Victory.Bette Davis as a socialite who gets cancer and falls in love with her doctor who cant tell her that she is ill, wont spoil it and tell you what happens but trust me by the end you,ll be welling up..Imitation Of Life, seen it a hundred times always still gets to me especially the funeral, has been known to wail when watching.:o.Grown man crys over soppy films, whatever next?.

Well there is always love story that is still a good weepie

One film i really cried at was last snows of spring it is an italian film dubbed into english but is is very sad ditto last feelings

Thanks for all the replys so far. I have seen alot of the films already mentioned (alot seem to be older films). Any modern day recommendations?

They don't have to be English Language I love world cinema and a couple of my favorite sad films come from Hong Kong (C'est La Vie, Mon Cherie and All About Ah Long).

Also, I enjoy films about relationships in general for instance I really love Before Sunrise and Before Sunset.

I'd be grateful for any other suggestions in this vein.

Agree with Imitation of Life (the 50's version with lana turner and Sandra Dee).. The end will definately get you.

Also an incredibly beautiful Iranian film "The Color of Paradise" is incredibly moving. About a little blind boy in rural Iran and the father who shuns him. Incredibly scenery, music. It's a great film . Just watching the trailer on the internet makes me teary.

Excellent post, was just about to put Green Mile. First time I watched it was on my own and my cat was sitting with me, needless to say he was soaked by the end!

I think I started crying about 10 minutes in when

the big guy requests the light to be left on cos he's scared of the dark

I have a few weepies. I love:-

The Way We Were - Barbara Streisand and Robert Redford.

Love Story - i cry even before it starts as i know what happens.

Beaches - what can i say, very emotional.

Steel Magnolias - another one which will require a box of tissues.
