Which of the following will not help an arctic mammal, such as a polar bear, to survive in the cold temperature and why?

A) Thick fur coat
B) Thick layer of fat beneath the skin
C) Small extremities such as ears
D) A large surface area: volume ratio

thick fur coat to provide insulation, Fat again provides insulation and keeps the body warmer. Small extremities is a common adaptation to avoid temperature changes,recall how you tend to fold your hands and legs and try to cuddle up and cover your ears to avoid cold.
 
well its kinda common sense i mean one a thick fur coat will keep them warm as would a thick layer of fat beneath the skin and as for the small extremities that also helps because there is less body to heat ans to get cold...so the answer would be D
