Baldness is a sex influenced trait. This means that although the gene allele for baldness is not carried on the X sex chromosome-- it is autosomal, the expression of the gene is determined by sex. In males, baldness is a dominant trait, while in females it is recessive. If a bald man whose father and mother had hair marries a woman with hair and who has a father with hair and a mother who is bald, what are the genotypes of the man, his parents, the woman and her parents?

What is the probability of this couple having a boy who will be bald as an adult?

What is the probability of having a girl who will become bald?

Probability of a bald girl?

probability of a bald boy?
