So the Naval Test Pilot school is my dream to go to. On the website, it says engineering is a near-must (although not mandatory).

Would bioengineering be viewed as "true" engineering or just as another major with some technical classes in it?

In other words, would bioengineering be considered as good of an engineering degree as Mechanical or Aerospace engineering in the eyes of the Test Pilot School Selection board?

Thanks.

No it wouldn't.

They are looking for people with electrical engineering, thermodynamics, aerospace background that can apply their education during the testing phase of the aircraft.

IE: the aircraft did this and this is the reason why it did it and this is what needs to be changed.

Bioengineering is not really gonna help you do that.
