billing issue

:( My contract with Verizon Wireless expired in August 2008 st which time I switched to AT&T. Now Verizon is trying bilk me out of almost $800.00, saying I never canceled with them. The point is my contract was up and i did not renew. They know I was not using their service. Now I'm turned over to a collection agency. What can I do?

Did you port your number over to at&t? If so you win,if not it's your word against there's and you may need to contact an attorney. :sad:
