l used to be SO furious that the Pope did nothing. And nuns prayed for the souls of people gassed and burned in their front yard as the ashes fell upon them.
Then l grew up.
Whatever one may think of the religion and ot the Pope, his first duty was to protect the Vatican. Hitler could have wiped it out in one day, had he wished because it was defenseless. He did his job by keeping quiet and secretely allowing, if not sanctioning, undergroung activities for which he was never credited.
As for the nuns, the day came when l understood there was nothing else they could have done. Any protest would have landed them over the fence, and the death of a bunch of women would have affected events not at all. These nuns went above the call of duty which is to pray by praying for the infidels. When l saw the light l can only salute them.
So, pray tell my friends, what are we doing for the hundreds of thousands we have harmed lately? We ignore the whole thing. We devilize the "enemy" which is exactly what all of Europe did to Jews.
While we're at it, the honored and respected country of Switzerland is paying reparation to Jews for accepting gains from their stolen property.
And the honored and respected US of A denied asylum to a shipload of Jews, knowingly sending them to certain death.
Bill Maher is doing his part by denouncing the murderous activities of our govnmt so l forgive him, he just doesn't know that part of history but those of you reading this know it now.
