Biking every morning?

What's a good distance everyday? 5 miles? More or less?

Go as far as you feel like. After a while 5 miles wont challenge you enough so you will need to extend the distance and pick up the pace. I use the first two miles just to get warmed up. I usually try to ride for an hour at a pace where I am breathing hard most of the time. You wont get stronger if you don't push yourself.
 
It's whatever you are comfortable with. Five miles is just a warm up for some people.Also depends on how much time you have and what you'll be doing after-wards.Maybe you can start with five and take it from there.
