Bike tire sizes difference?

Bicycle? I think you want something like 26x1.25. You'll get less weight and rolling resistance.

Using American standards I replaced my mountain bike's 26x2.00 knobbies with 1.25 slicks for road use. I'm not sure we're on the same page; but that's what I did. If you're going to be on paved roads you don't need a wide tire.

Hi. i am looking to get new tires for my dirt jumper...some street tires. I have 26x2.10 on them right now...The ones i see are 26x2.3 tho...how much of a difference is that? There is still some space between my tire and frame...would thye probably fit?
Its a dirt jumper...would I really want tires that thin? or did you think I meant street bike?

the frame is a .243 FR

I have on numerous occasions tried to replace smaller tires with the 2.3s and all too often they did not fit between the chain stays. The size difference doesn't seem like much and each time I was surprised it did not fit. If in fact you want to put "street" tires on your dirt jumper, the question would be, Why? If is is for speed, then go with something narrower than what you have, like a 1.95 or even a 1.75, And look for a less aggressive tread so they will roll smoother, quieter and faster. If you are riding in dirt, mud or snow, hang on to the aggressive tread in the same current width.
