i have got 2001 r1 and got it pissed wet riding today, but due to bad climate i had to park it ''wet'' because my garage is still under construction. just wondering that will it get rusted up? or will it do any damage?

As soon as it stops raining, take a towel out and dry it off. Hit the lower fork legs with some WD40. Then I would fire it up and let it warm up a bit. You will see all sorts of steam come off of it. Rain won't hurt it, but cleaning it up right away will keep the possibility of bad things happening to a minimum.

don't worry about it. a lot of people leave their bikes outside all year just like a car.

One time in the rain is not going to rust your bike, but you should not make it a habit. If you have a leaf blower, use it to blow your bike dry. If not, just dry it well with a soft cloth. Pay extra attention to any chrome or polished metal, rain spots are difficult to remove.

rusty maybe miner bike has been outside almost nine yrs with few spots of rust just wipe it down man it will be fine

cant get it the house where was it park before today

rockface...are you still on your harley-bashing crusade ?just another idiot that has never tried something, yet puts it down without any facts....posmf.
rain wont hurt your bike at all,do you run out and wipe down your car every time it rains ?maybe we should all wipe down our boats as soon as we pull them out of the water too ?

nah, Yamahas will sit out all year and be fine if your wires are in good shape. Unlike the Harley's, If you keep reasonable maint going like cable lube and new spark plug wires, chain lube etc they handle the rain and outdoors real well.

ONly my recent bikes have the luxury of a garage. Some bolt head will sart to rust over if left out all the time and any exposed unpainted metal. zinc plating will tarnsih with time. Regular cleaning and preventaive measures like using wd40, grease or similar stuff on bolt heads, electrical connectors

give it a rub down with a cloth preferable a leather chammy and it will be fine.
