That sucks bro. I bought my 1098 from Shawn at South Seas. He's a good dude. And you'll get a straight up assessment from Will. He's the Ducati mech out there. Good people there for the most part. I'm surprised the guy stopped after he hit you. Especially seeing as you're in Hawaii. I'm just saying......

I have a hard time believing that twisted the frame. The trellis isn't exactly made of licorice sticks..... I can see maybe the frame tabs for your rearsets, but they fold. If you can buy it back for a good price, it'd totally be worth it as a killer track bike. Dominate all and you wouldn't be worried as much about dropping it because guess what... it's already been down!!! Even if it did twist the frame, you can get second hand frames for a good price just like Nate Dog said.
 
At two weeks old I wouldn't even consider repairing the bike especially as, depending on who does the repairs, the job may not be 'as good as new'.

As for damaging the frame ... remember that the slight fall was caused by a vehicle hitting the bike.

i also know of a F4 MV being written off by an insurance company (in this case the bike can't be reregistered) for a damaged frame (only the seat subframe was damaged). The owner bought the bike from the insurance company and made it his track bike. The total cost was $ 8,000 AUD for a $25,000+ bike. But then, the bike can only be ridden on the track so the resale value is bugger all.
 
esp considering there's only one duc dealership in the state....

and if u bring in a bike frm out of state, they treat u like crap.


btw successful808, was that u i saw riding in waipahu a couple sundays ago. i'm sorry i was drooling n purposely driving slow in traffic.

not necessarily, but u have to admit that there are plenty of mil guys to give locals d wrong impression about white ppl.

i've ridden w/ some, but i know a shit load more that are decent ppl.

i take it u were actually stationed here.... or u talking out ur ass???
 
I bet only the steering stop is bended and not really the fraim.

You would get a bargain to buy it from the insurance company when they rate this as a total.
