Bike destroyed 2 weeks later...

I am a lurker here while I bought my 1198 2 weeks ago. Guy says he did not see my bike when he backed up. Nailed it and it did a swan dive off the kick stand. Tottaled out. Pictures say it all. Going to get the S this time around.

Buy it back from the insurance company. If the frame and a few minor cosmetic things need to be fixed you will still come out on top. If you don't I will
 
Track Bike!!! (unless the frame really is twistwed, but you could buy it back from insurance as is, source a frame, and still be WAY ahead and have a killer track bike.) Still sucks, but now at least your getting the S!

Wow - more than a little scary that a fall totals out a $16K+ bike... Sorry to hear about it, but at least he stopped. Wasn't but a few days ago a guy on here posted about stopping by a friends place for 'a bump' and came out to find his bike knocked over with noone nearby....

Thanks guys. I am just following what the bike shop says. It will be sent back to Ducati of Honolulu for the final check. We shall see. If they can fix it I will consider it but I paied 25K out the door. I dont want a compromised bike. Maybe I am just to worried for nothing?
