Ive been trying in several forums, and for several frustrating days to figure this out. I have seen alot of 700w related activity in this forum so i figured id give it a try. I need to flash my verizon 700w with prl, etc so it will work on the alltel network. I have the necessary software and know how to use it, but i ran into a huge problem. Neither Bitpim nor QPST will recognize or acknowledge the treo even exists, though the computer itself seems to, and activesync works fine. I dont know why this is, and I have had several theories, but it is frustrating to say the least.

I have the stock USB cable, and im running it in serial mode through the phone. I have tried #*#DIAG, but it wont show the phone. I have read several things about needing a serial cable, but I dont see how it will help if it wont even show.

Can anyone help?

UPDATE: It looks like the underlying problem is that im blocked from accessing diagnostics mode, this problem stemming from the 1.22 software update. Can anyone provide me with CRICKET flash files for the phone? I would be grateful, thanks.

100% correct you need the serial cable or something like the unibox. If you get those and it still doesn't recognize it then clean the bottom connection.

Well, thats a bummer. Anyway i just failed in uploading an Alltel Rom while trying to find a solution, and I bricked the phone. Anyone know where the test point is located on the treo's board? It would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. Would the treo 650 serial cable work?

if you can still get it in bootloader (hold side button under volume buttons) if you hold that and plug the sync cable while hold the sync button too and as thats going replace battery and pc will see it. i know its little task but thats only way it worked on my 700. with card reader put any rom for your phone in root dir and insert into phone. open mtty and connect to usb. run command sd2r and wait takes like a half hour to update and phone will restart good as new.
