My favorite film's of the year are:
'The wind that shakes the barley'
'united 93'
I've seen over 30 at the cinema this year and the biggest surprises are:
'Monster house'
'Snakes on a plane'
'Crank'
'Mission Impossible 3'
The worst was 'Miami vice', the most boring film I've ever seen.

Snakes on a Plane for me!

Oh, and The Producers way back in January. Had no idea it was going to be as great as it was.

In the past year it would have to be Walk The Line. My son who has extreme diverse music tastes, wanted to see it so I took him. i loved it, the performances and chemistry were so alive. i then took my mum, and made my daughter watch it on the plane home fromLA - she loved it too, knowing nothing about JC. Stunning, Joachim Phoenix was robbed of the oscar!

Walk The Line is a brilliant film, one of the best i have seen in a long time. I've watched the DVD numerous times. The performances from Joaquin and Reece were outstanding - and you're right, he was robbed!
I even bought the soundtrack CD, which is also very good!

My daughter bought it for me!! it's stunning alright! I really don't think you need to know anything about johnny cash to get the film. No prior knowledge necessary! Great life, great story, amazing performances - even if you don't like bio-pics/music!

My hubby had a Johnny Cash Cd, but i'd never listened to his music. i'm quite a fan of Jaquin Phoenix, so i thought he might do a pretty good job of portraying Cash, so when i did see it, i was blown away! The music and singing is awesome, and i loved Reece's performance too, not having seen any of her films before.
My 15 year old stepdaughter watched the film too, and she had never heard of Johnny Cash, and she loved the film!
