Biggest Disappointment.

Pretty much all films are to a greater or lesser extent subjective as to whether they're 'good' or not.

Except Shaun of the Dead - which is objectively, de-facto and unequivocally excellent in every respect.

I'm not helping here, am I?

These are the films that have disappointed me the most, and I like a wide range of different films.

War of the WorlRAB - Disappointing Ending
American Pie 3 - Not that funny
Derailed - Not bad, but not as good as I thought.
Open Water - Rubbish!
Scary Movie - Awful
Oceans Eleven - Dragged Out
Sliding Doors - Could have been better
Meet the Fockers - Not as good as Meet the Parents
Dodgeball - Didn't like it
Donnie Darko - I know im in a minority (but I just didn't get it)
The Cell - ?!?!?!?!?!?!

The most recent one for me was Narnia. I was a huge fan of the books when I was a kid but the film just came across as very 'safe' and a little bland. I came out feeling very underwhelmed by the whole thing.

I was desperately disappointed by Captain Corelli's mandolin - I should have expected it as I adore the book, but how could the producers change the plot and the characters so much?! One of the main characters was a bit of a hero in the film, and a nasty evil b*stard in the book - just couldn't get my head round it at all and wish I'd never seen it. Nicholas Cage's Italian accent sounded like a take off of the cornetto man too, and don't even get me started on all the important bits the film missed out!

The Magic Roundabout

*shudders* what a brutal murder of a fantastic show, surely the producers could figure out that that show was never made for children! I know way more parents and other adults who watched it, fantastic political humour and Non-PC drugs comments that kiRAB just wouldn't ever even "get" let alone find funny.

Dougal: What? is my nightie on fire? The french are invading! Vote Conservative, what what?

Dougal: Oh look what you did! (aside) doesn't take much to upset the railways these days.

Dylan: I'll just watch these crazy mushrooms grow - woah *snores*

Ermentrude: You could always eat the flowers, I usually find that helps fabulously darling!

*sniffles* I took my niece to see that film and I swear I wanted to bleach my brain, then I took her home and made her watch the original animations :D

The Magic Roundabout - why did they do it?

Years ago Bram Stoker's Dracula (the 1992 one with Gary Oldman) - lots of hype - cr*p movie.

I've only been to the cinema since when taking my son - & he only started going 6 years ago.

Totally agree. It started off like a real horror movie then it seemed as if they couldn't be bothered to finish it so just made the killer into a moth?! It tried to be different, which it was but very much failed to be successfully different.

Meet The Parents was another disappointment. Not the best plot, not the worst either but all the funny bits had already been in trailers or previews. So was left watchin something that i felt i'd already wathced.

Miami Vice, OK I wasnt looking forward to it that much but it was utter crap!! Never wanted a movie to be over so much in my life

X Men 3, after the 1st 2 being so good, and getting caught up with the characters this was just a major dissapointment

Gee, just been skimming back over this thread. Someone was disappointed by Shawshank - another by Eternal Sunshine. The latter I can see might not be everyone's cup of tea (though it is probably the best film in the last 10 years IMHO) but Shawshank?!!! I suppose that proves there has never been a film made that everyone likes.

Hmm... there's an idea for a thread....
