The Dark - i thought it was going to be a good horror movie and then i saw Sean Bean in it and i thought oh god and the film was very very disappointing, it was just horrible and confusing
Hulk - I'm a fan of most comic movies (even Daredevil ), but this one really let the side down. Direction was stunning, but everything else was rubbish.
Also Hellboy - I was really looking forward to it, and enjoyed the majority, and then the ending was so very messed up.
Finally, Hitchhikers - I was expecting not to like it (being a purist), then I started to enjoy the first half, then the second half let me down beyond my worst fears. I was so angry...
Yeah I agree. As soon as I hear of a movie I might like to see I am careful to avoid finding out too much about it so that I come to see it without preconceived opinions. Thats the best way to avoid feeling disappointed. That or just expect every film you see to be crap, then you wont be disapointed if it is crap, or you will be pleasantly delighted if isnt crap.
Seriously though, some people say films like Resident Evil or 2 Fast 2 Furious are their biggest disappointments?! Did you really expect these films to be any good?
Most disappointed would probably have been '15 Minutes' (2001); I saw the trailer about three or four weeks before it was released and it looked like a really good film. Anyway, when it finally started screening in the UK no-one wanted to watch it with me.
"Well *&%^* that!!!", I thought, "I'll go by myself!"
Anyway, I finally managed to find a cinema that was screening it - spent ages getting there - spent over
I believe the makers of Alien 4 said to treat it as the real Alien 3 and forget the first Alien 3. If only we could !!
I was on holiday in tenerife and saw that they were showing Alien 3 in a local pub that evening. I was well chuffed as it wasn't due out in the UK for ages and eagerly got myself set up in front of the screen.
I was full of anticipation after watching the 2nd Alien movie (Aliens) and was ready for more of the same action.
No such luck. A cheapo film, shot in the dark to hide the cheap dodgy effects and no character development.
I don't think the makers of this rubbish ever watched any of the 1st two films.
They had Brian Glover from the Tetley Tea folk aRAB as a main character which just strained the little credibility it had to breaking point.
Matrix reloaded and revolutions both sucked too. The makers obviously looked at what audiences liked about The Matrix and shoved loaRAB of it into the sequels but forgot to add a sensible plot or any characterisation. they were little more than Matrix style fight scenes joined up with small talky bits.
after the first film i thought reloaded was great and left so many questions which lead to a million different theories on the net. in the end the answers were crap in film 3.
Never seen Moulin Rouge, missed it at the flicks, never watched the DVD and finally sat down last night with the OH to watch it thinking it was something I'd really enjoy. After an hour there was a muttered 'please make them stop' from the OH and if I ever hear 'Your Song' again I'll probably do something violent. A mess of a movie, with a couple of good ideas replayed over and over again. I still can't believe I hated it as much as I did, completely disappointed.
The Lord of the Rings....all of them, as dull as ditchwater. walk...fight...walk...fight...walk...fight...walk...fight...walk...fight...walk...fight...walk...fight...could have got that bird thing to take the ring and drop it in there all along. 12 hours wasted.
Armageddon - that was one big pile of poo - I sat there for 2 1/2 hours got a numb bum - and came out really disappointed - another one would be Creep - quite enjoyed the film but it was so full of plot holes - on the other hand went to see Dog Soldiers knowing nothing about the film and loved it laughed my head off
