Big Trouble in Little China

Just watching this again on E4. I must have seen this film about a dozen times. One of the classics from my childhood :)

Some of the humour and chemistry between the actors in scenes is great. Shows you how films could be back in the day when they had to have a good script to make a good movie.

You're right, it's an incredibly brilliant film. Probably the greatest B movie of all time. I love it. :)

Lo Pan scared the shite out of me as a kid, and Thunder blowing up near the end.

The chemistry between the main characters is terrific, and I like the idea that the main character (Kurt Russel) is essentially a sidekick dragged along for the ride. He gets his arse kicked the entire length of the film - but he's not a coward, and so, we like him.

Absolutely fabulous film.I have never tired of seeing it even after all these years. There are just so many great one-liners and action sequences.Great soundtrack by Carpenter as well.

People seem to remember Crouching Tiger,Hidden Dragon as the first 'wire-fu' movie to make it big in the West, but this was at least ten years before that.Very under rated film.

-"Now I'm not saying that I've been everywhere and done everything, but I do know that this is a pretty amazing planet we live on here, and a man would have to be some kind of fool to think we're all alone in this universe."

Just one of my favourite quotes of oh so many!

Absolutely love this film!...

"I'm supposed to buy this shit? 2000 years and you can't find one broad to fit the bill? Come on Dave, you must be doing something seriously wrong!"

Just two stars? That's a violation! The reviewer should be locked up! Most probably the film was made years before they were born, and had never seen it.

The flm deservedley gets a three or maybe even four stars.

I hadn't seen this film for years, even though it had been on the other digital channels earlier this year a couple of times, I didn't get chance to watch it. Finally got to see it last night, though.

I agree with the above posters saying it has great action, great one-liners and great chemistry between the actors. Absolutely love it!

Didn't realise J.C made it. I love his movies - The Fog especially.

"RELAX!"......"it's all in the reflexes" :D

It's funny how so many people, especially the critics, didn't get that. Wang Chi was the hero whilst Jack Burton was the oblivious side-kick.

Wish they'd make a sequel. "Big Trouble in Little Italy"? Jack could have a run in with the Mafia and baddies from Italian folklore and mythology.

A few years ago Kurt Russell mentioned that "Jack Burton" was one of his favorite characters (Snake Plissken & R.J. MacReady were the others). He said that he would love to revisit that character again. But I guess John Carpenter never took the hint - or most likely said no. They're both close, close frienRAB so I'm sure the topic had been discussed between them.

When I first saw the movie, I wasn't too crazy about it. But now, since I'm older, I do appreciate the film more. It's not the greatest movie but it's fun. :)

When pondering the greatness of this movie, I ask myself one very important question;

"Does Kim Cattrall look hot in this?"

Damn yes! Cult status confirmed. :)

I really like Kurt Russel and I really want to like this movie as it has all of the ellements that I love.

But it just doesn't do it for me

E4 showing the uncut version? I don't remember that much violence in the fight scene in the alleyway, especially where one bloke is stabbed in the groin.
