i'm getting ready to do A LOT of commuter and recreational mountain biking later this spring and through til the fall. I'll be riding on everything from flat roads to city street to dirtroads to mountain trails with some dirt jumps. What is the preferred workout i should be doing? Facts: I'm a 6'3" male with no physical drawbacks, other then being about 255 lbs. (i'm broad, as well as tall, but biking will help with that and walking has already. Down from 275 lbs!!!) I'd describe my lower body strength level as "moderate" but upper as "weak". I've already got the drive, the gym membership AND the stationery bike, (Mtn. bike's to come soon) PLS help! I'm looking for # of reps, names of workouts, (ie walking lunges, squats, etc.) and # of different workout that should be applied per muscle (i.e. "work your quads 2x, with these 2 workouts") If you have a routine that works for you, lemme know, i'm listening. Thx! Oh! And i DON'T want to bulk up my legs in doing this, not that much at least. I'm just looking for strength. Definition is cool too, but main focus is strength, not size.
