Bicycle - Rear wheel seems to be grinding on something?

Well, my bike was fine for a while, but one day I raced a friend through our university, not a great idea since there's a lot of bumps and curbs to jump. Later on that day, my bike seemed to be harder to ride.

Basically, when I ride the bike or any movement to the back tire you'll feel a slight vibration on the pedals. Also, when you lift the rear end of the bike off the ground, then spin the wheel, it doesn't spin as it should smoothly, it roughly stops.

Any ideas what's wrong? How much it would cost to fix? Thanks!

the brakes might be stuck
like against the wheel
stopping it from moving properly.

try tightening the brakelines, the brakes could be rubbing on the wheel. You could have also bent the back wheel.

Its most likely rubbing against the brake pad. This happens from time to time.

Loosen the two nuts on the back tire and try to adjust the rim to a desirable position. Then make sure you tighten them up very well or else the same thing will happen.

i dont know exactly but is your brake pad rubbing? you could also have a loose bareing or something. i have a bolt thing lost on my back wheel and it vibrates and bobbles around alot

Sounds like the rear wheel got cocked sideways in the frame and the tire is rubbing the frame?

Dude, just take it to a bike shop if you can't fix it.

Wow.
