A bicycle has wheels with a diameter of 0.560 m. It accelerates uniformly and the rate of rotation of its wheels increases from 181 rpm to 290 rpm in a time of 27.7 s. Find the linear acceleration of the bicycle.

firstly find the circumference of the wheel,

π x D = 3.142 x 0.56 = 1.759 m

181 / 60 is rotations per second = 3.0167

3.0167 x 1.759 = starting velocity = 5.31 m /s

290 / 60 = 4.83

4.83 x 1.759 = final velocity = 8.5 m/s

final - starting = 3.19 ~ 3.2

3.2 / 27.7 = acceleration = 0.1155 m / s^2
