Bicycle number plates in ww2 France?

Does anyone know about this law during world war two, and have any more information? bicycles seemed to have license plates in occupied Paris judging by photo evidence. Anyone know about rules in other areas, especially Normandy or Brittany. Any info on lettering/numbering also.

I posted this before but it was deleted - don't know why, perfectly valid and interesting subject - the details of wartime life.

This is what I think Yahoo should be about.

I suggest that you go on Ebay and search for WW11 Photos. Some of the people that sell these photos are very knowledgable.

Also try emailing the Imperial War Museum.
