Bicycle Helmet Question?

I am doing a paper on the physics of bicycle helmets. I am interested in finding the area of a bicycle helmet in order to calculate the pressure of an applied force (I have already calculated force for certain situations).

So, I'd appreciate it if someone provided a possible figure for the area of an average bicycle helmet. If not, would it work to measure its length and width along the curve using an elastic ruler? If that will work, I could do it myself, but i don't know if there's anything geometric to consider, like a formula for a half sphere or something.
