Bicycle brakes: What happens if you pull the lever when the disc is not

between the brake pads? Someone told me that if you remove your front wheel and accidentally press the brake lever, the brakes will get stuck. Is this true?
 
Doing this causes the pads to be pushed out of the brake assembly, I suppose that is what your friend meant by "stuck". Just carefully put them back in, I believe they are magnetic, so it's not a big deal if this happens to you, just don't hit the lever when the wheels out ;)
