Let's be brutually honest here.

The Bible also has an alarmingly high number of immoral guidelines, like to kill non-believers, gays and children who misbehave. For examples see Deuteronomy 13:6, Leviticus 20:13 Exodus 21:15 Matthew 10:21, 5:17. People tend to just cherry pick the good advice, and it takes complicated interpretations to figure out some of the good stuff. Fundamentalist Christians still argue for the literal word of the Bible, because they see that once you undermined some of its holy facts, the whole house of cards comes tumbling down."

The bible is an appalling book about an ugly, immoral deity who sets up a system under which humanity is guaranteed to fail so that he can both punish it for eternity and rescue a few--bizarrely enough-- for their belief rather than their good deeds.
So here's the question:
Is the bible with all it's mistakes, errors about reality, and contradictions the word of god or merely the attempt of an ancient and ignorant tribal people to make sense of suffering and death by fabricating an angry, violent, and veangeful deity?
Attention Xians:
Please try to form an intelligent rebuttle instead of merely tossing middle-school insults at me.

We weren't guaranteed to fail in the beginning. It wasn't until Adam and Eve sinned that our will became corrupt.
