bf whereabouts: common courtesy vs fear of alone time?

Since we are together frequently, if I have plans that do not include him I will let him know so he has a heads up to hang with friends or alone time. However, he will tell me last min he is busy. I'm not asking him to report his whereabouts 24/7. In fact I do tell/encourage him do your own thing. Apparently only I consider it common courtesy with the advance notice. (maybe I am weird!) I like giving my friends heads up vs last min calls. He considers himself (and his friends) more spontaneous and myself more organized. He likes having a plan B, that’s fine, but I feel you need a plan A first. Lol!

My bf decided he’d agree to give me heads up. But I sensed a bit of sarcasm when he said I have a fear of being alone, so now that he's told me… go plan something. He said I don’t have to tell him everything, I can also last min say I have something to do. (I doub t that would last long. He’ll prob start asking q’s if I always did that!)

My concern is, is there a lack of communication/honesty? I never restrict what he does or who he sees. I am more than willing to give him space/alone time as needed. I don't have a fear of being alone, I just prefer not to. I already had decades of me time and time to think. At the same time he’s the one who says it’s our world and he likes spending time with me. He evens cancels on his friends and I find out later.
