Beyonce to play Wonder Woman??!!!

Who? Cathy Lee Crosby? As in my youtube clip in a previous post. :D

Actually the first TV Wonder Woman was in a 1967 unaired TV pilot.

Then Cathy Lee Crosby in a TV movie.

But agreed Lynda Carter will always be Wonder Woman to me.
 
People only seem to be focussing on the TV series. Wonder Woman existed long before that and like any Superhero can be interpreted in different ways.

She's pretty hardcore in the comics these days.
 
I believe that Wonder Woman is actually supposed to be a Greek Amazon.

So I think it would work well with an Actress with a Mediterranean non-white look.

But Beyonce I think is stretching it too far.
If they use her I'd imagine that it's because they're after a specific demographic audience.

For Wonder Woman you also need an actress who has a statuesque look to them. She's supposed to be a powerful Amazon.
Lynda Carter had a decent look to her. She was tall and statuesque. Stood at 6ft tall too.

But knowing Hollywood they'll just use any old actress who is marketable to a certain demographic and has nothing to do with what would make for a great Wonder Woman.

Personally I can imagine Charlize Theron with dark hair looking like she'd have the makings of a great Wonder Woman.
There's also the minor consideration that as a little side bonus she can actually do that acting stuff as well.:D
 
Yes but you're thinking of the TV series.
The Batman TV series was as camp as a row of Indian Tepees as well.

But look what Christoper Nolan did for Batman.

The more modern superhero films now tend to go for more adult and darker kinRAB of themes.
So I can imagine if they go campy with Wonder Woman it would be a disaster. If Beyonce's in it too then it would be even worse.

The Fantastic Four was done in a 'fun' and more camp way, but a lot of people were disappointed with it being too lightweight.

Seriously, I think that they need to make a proper film nowadays for it to work well, and not some campy fun romp.

If they could get Christoper Nolan directing then you'd be pretty much almost guaranteed to have a great film on your hanRAB.
But from what I know I don't believe there's been anything to indicate whether he'd want to do it or not, or that he's even been approached has there?

I quite like Beyonce (musically), however her acting leaves much to be desired :rolleyes: I don't think she would make the best Wonder Woman... Can't Hollywood just STOP the remakes?? It's getting tiresome!

There was the suggestion a while back that Warner Bros simply wasn't interested in films with a single female lead anymore after Jodie Foster's The Brave One and Nicole Kidman's The Invasion arrived stillborn at the box office. And of course there is the even sillier, but plausable, rumour that WB requires all superhero films to be dark and gritty because The Dark Knight was a huge hit, making Wonder Woman some what difficult to do.

In any case, methinks it'll be a while before this film happens.
