BEV: Signal Outages - Fri. 13th. Sun. 15th - Due to Storms in Toronto

No thanks, I'll live with a downtime of 1 hour a year rather than double my monthly bill with a new "Uplink Centre" fee.
 
Thank you, I was going to suggest we all pay double for the new uplink centre, but didn't think it would go over well.
 
Compare to my 3100 setup, the HD setup seems to loose signal a lot more, does anybody have any info on the size of dish vs signal strenght?

I have a friend in the US who just got HD and his dish is 40+ inch vs my Bells 24"

was thinking that if it made a large difference in signal strength to but a bigger dish in.

I don't seem to find any info on dish size vs signal
 
It will help if the rain/snow fade is at your end, however, it won't do a thing about what's discussed in this thread - the uplink. Do a search for rain fade or snow fade. Plenty of previous threads on the topic. For example:
