BEV: Signal Outages - Fri. 13th. Sun. 15th - Due to Storms in Toronto

Down here too. west coast.

weathernetwork.com only says partly cloudy in TO.

what is going on?

Thanks for the heads up and yes it is out again 3:02 Atlantic time.

At least I didn't miss Galactica this time and US Open is later today :p

Huge T-storms moving thru Toronto area. HEAVY rain. Good thing for TSN dot CA can still watch US OPEN!

Its the biggest lightning show I've seen in years in Toronto. I wonder if something around Bev got hit since it appears to have been very close.

errum.....seeing as we are all getting the signal from the same satellite I don't think it's necessary to point out where you live. It's not like the outage time is going to be different for anyone either! Btw, it's down for the second time right now so no need going through this again. Oh I'm in BC and down for like 10minutes now for the second time today. Using my amazing ESP capabilities I sense it's probably down in Ontario too and probably for the same amount of time. I know it's amazing I am able to sense that all the way out here in BC but who can explain the magic of sixth sense.

Seems kind of crazy Bell doesn't have a backup teleport!

ExpressVu faded out during the 6pm CITY News as the heavy rain passed over me ... so I switched to my HD Antenna and watch it over the air. One nice thing about a TV antenna is it always works no matter what the weather.

I've also been thinking of upgrading from the 20 inch ExpressVu dish to two 33 inch dishes... one for each satellite... I know it won't totally eliminate rain fade but it will for sure help reduce it.

Storm came out of nowhere. One of the "pop up" thunderstorms that we often see around here. Got 20 mm of rain in about 15 minutes - that's a lot. A small amount of small hail too. The lightning and thunder wasn't too bad this time though.

I just got back from doing a little shopping on my city bike (hybrid) in time. See, I've been riding a hybrid for about 20 years. ;)

If you click on the links below in time, you'll see that it came from nowhere and is now leaving Toronto.

Well, it's now sunny again... Weird stuff.

I'm losing the signal for almost 15 minutes now... I'm in the Montreal area and it's verry sunny here!

Last Friday, I loose my signal too... It's the first time I'm losing it when the weather problem is not here....

I'm hoping it will not be always like that in the future because Videotron will take the lead in Qu

It won't have any effect if the issue is with the uplink, as it has been with the last couple of storms. There appears to be another storm on the way right now.

Yeah I know... but most of the time it's to do with the downlink and I've heard that the 30 inch dishes hold the signal very well in bad weather. Another big banger with hail just passing over me now in Mississauga and is heading your way in TO.... good luck!

Lost 91 then about 5 minutes later lost 82. Get 0% now. Came on here to check, happy that it wasn't just me.

First time I can recall them going completely off line.
