Those people with BEV (and *C), please bookmark the above websites. ;)

Go figure, instead of checking here I did the following......
Try the check switch, figure the sw44 is dead again.
Head out to the shed, search in about 10 boxes for my spare.
Climb into the crawl space to change it out. Realize I removed the 7/16 wench I used to keep there so I crawl back out to get one.
Crawl back in then swap out the sw44.
Come inside, do a check switch and bam she's working again :)
Pop in a Blu-ray and watch a movie.

Hours later come here and find out there was nothing wrong with my equip.

Just my luck.....

I spent 15 minutes troubleshooting too...I called them and the overseas call center was quite busy but the rep wouldn't confirm anything about an outage jsut that there was a lot of calls. I wish they had a pre-recorded message that would tell callers about any outages rather than have to wait on the phone forever. Mine was back online long before I got a human...actually forgot I was on hold with them...no music which was strange.

I lost my signal for about 5-10 minutes on Friday around 10pm and today (Sunday) around 2 pm. All transponders . . . zeros across the board. I live in Ontario. I called BEV both times and all I got was a busy signal.

Could it have something to do with these new cards BEV is handing out . . . rebooting/updating the system or something?

Down in Grimsby - and I'm missing Battlestar Galactica! That was one of the biggest electrical storms I've seen in a long time! I didn't loose power but there were several brown outs, yikes!

10:10pm -strike that, I'm back too.

No need to phone Bell, just check here to see if others are seeing (or not seeing) the same thing across the country.

In cases like this a good organization will do a number of "lessons learned" post mortems, analyses, and seminars. I can save them a lot of trouble by pointing out what you've said.

If its true, they have all their eggs in one basket with all their satellite services bottle-necked through one teleport, and there's no getting around that.

Konstantinos I assume that your post was moved into this thread. Please read from post 1 about the thunderstorms in Toronto at the times you mention.

If you get a busy signal, it probably means that there are lots of people calling in, therefore you're probably not alone.

that is what you call extreme rain fade :D. On cable several stations were blacked out also...such as TSN and others....I suspect the problem was the same.
