Hi,

Can someone tell me if Eagle Aspen multi-switch ( use by Direct TV in the states) are compatible with BEV ? I'm looking into buying one of those switches.

Thanks

As far as I know, Direct TV and * C have a different switching pattern. They have a continuous 22k tone while BEV and Dishn*t have an on/off toggle. I know that you can't use a dishpro switch for *Choice. So I assume that you also can't use an Aspen Eagle switch designed for *C for a BEV system...

You should be OK with a DirectTV switch as long as it's the 13V/18V style.

Oksat is correct that StarChoice uses a different signalling system, but that's not what you asked about.

As far as I know, DirectTV legacy switches are the same as Dish & EVu legacy switches and the receiver sends either 13V or 18V to select the polarity it desires.

It's only for reception from a single satellite however - if you need HD or some of the speciality channels on the Nimiq satellite at 82 degrees you'll need a different style of switch.

A expressvu tech installed a eagle aspen 3x4 switch in my house that came in a blue expresvu package. Cardboard back, contents encased in clear plastic,

Eagle Aspen is the manufacturer of all SW24's & Sw28's supplied by Express Vu to Installation Companies.

Technicians using anything else for these 2 switch's might not be using approved parts.
