heylo, i have 2 bell 3100 receivers hooked up in my house as well as an HD receiver in my basement and i was trying to move one of my 3100 receivers to a different location but it doesnt seem to be able to wrok there.

Everytime i hook it up in the new location it says "Attention please standbye for sat. signal" and goes through diferent transponders", now i went down to my basement where all the cables are going through from and fidled around with them a bit to see if i could get it to work.

from what i managed to see, there were two cables coax. cables with blue stripes around them and im assuming these are connected to the dish, one of these is connected to a videopath power inserter connected to a black coax which seems to be connected to my 3100 thats not changing positions, now there are also two other black coax.'s down there that are not connected to anything, but it seemed that if i connected one of those to the power inserte in palce of my non-moving 3100 it made the one i moved work, but the one i didnt move then stopped working,

the other blue striped coax cable was connected with a thingie to another white cable which i had no clue waht that did, i tried messing with taht, but nothing changed,

all throughout this my basement hd worked fine, even though i was unhooking random thigns which i knew worked with my tv's lol,

anyways if anyone could help my noobishness and help me move my 3100 to the new location while letting my second 3100 still work i would really appreciate it

No offense, but it will next to impossible for anyone to help with specifics in this case.

Connect the white wire to the thingie then join the 2 black with blue stripe wires..... LOL

Look for one of the many diagrams posted on the site. You will have to find out where the wires go. Maybe borrow a cable tester or something.

At least you haven't seemed to mess up the other existing stuff yet.

You need to connect a line from the SW44 to the 3100. Check out the diagrams and double check to make sure you have the power inserter in the right place between the receiver and the dish.

The bottom line is the message is saying you aren't getting a signal from the dish to your receiver. Use the setup screen to help you (menu 6 1 1). You may also need to run the check switch during and after your trials.

Also make sure that the cable comming from the outside dish is in satellite in, not TV/antenna in
