Hi just posted about my husband health.

"very complex husband?"

I have another question. Some of my husband behavoury at home Hepatic encephalopathy is strange, I keep thinking is on the on start of Alzeimers instead as some of what he doing adding up. Is their any way of tell the difference of the 2 conditions as read up, they are very close only treating him for encephalopathy because liver does this rule out alzeimers completely?

Is their any tests can be done to complete sort out which illness he has.

Thank you

Since hepatic encephalopathy is caused by liver failure it would seem it would be much easier to diagnose than AZ. If he is in liver failure, or experiencing serious liver issues, it seems hepatic encephalopathy would trump AZ. In other words, even if he has AZ buried somewhere under the H E, the impact of the H E on the brain would be faster and more significant.

You need to ask the doctor(s) how they came to their diagnosis but there still isn't any exact medical test to specify AZ alone.

The tell if it's AZ by eliminating other diseases. There is a memory test that can be done that will help identify it. I lost my mother to this horrid disease.

Hi thanks for your answers . As no one believed me at the hospital or doctors . I did a video diary of him trying to normal actives. Even while in gp's. My doctor was surprised at what she saw and has refered him as a emergency case now to be tested for korsakoff syndrome.

So next question would be how bad does this get whats the out come could be ?. As I'm in pieces watching this

Thank you.
