Better signal pickup and call quality: palm or blackberry?

I am in the process of either buying a palm or blackberry phone, mainly for their organizer and email functions.

i know that the service provider is the most important part of getting good reception, but I wanted to know which line of phones will be better in that old problem of getting reception in hard to find places, keeping calls, and clear voice quality.

I much prefer my Blackberry 7100 over my older Blackberry and the Treo 650 I had.

They are probably pretty close, so like you said it would depend upon carrier.
