better internet carrier GSM or CDMA?

I have T-Mobile now, and surf the web all the time on my Sony Ericsson T610. Internet access is so slow and I'd like to get the newest, latest, fastest.
Right now, I'd buy the new Motorola Q when it is available. I believe that it will be offered by Verizon with their CDMA technology first, then on GSM technology carriers later in the year.

Is there anything wrong with CDMA and Verizon? Should I just wait and get it on a GSM network in a few months?

Verizon has rolled out the CDMA 1X EV-DO standard. It has speeds of 2.4 Mbps (real life its only around 500 - 700 kbps). The GSM carriers that rolled out EDGE (the T610 is only GPRS) have a maximum download transfer rate of 384 kbps (when everything works just right and you are standing on the tower). Your GPRS connection has 48 kbps download speeds.

The Verizon Q phone will have EV-DO in it (http://www.phonearena.com/htmls/readarticles.php?id=861) so it should be very quick on the downloads.

Tango Uniform.
